What happens to your information

Writing to your Town Council is a public act. This page explains exactly what that means before you do it.

What we collect

Your name, street address, email address, the letter you write, and your phone number if you choose to give it. Nothing else. There are no advertising trackers on this site.

Why the address is required

The Council weighs comment from people who live in and around Strasburg. Without an address your letter cannot be identified as coming from a resident, and it carries far less weight.

Where your letter goes

Your letter is sent to the Town Council with your name and street address attached, from this campaign’s email address with your address set as the reply-to, so the Council can respond to you directly. We cannot send it from your own address: doing so would fail standard email authentication.

Letters are also kept so they can be submitted together into the public record before the hearing. Correspondence submitted to a public body generally becomes a public record. Assume anything you write here can be read by anyone, including people who oppose the project.

What we do not do

Your details are not sold, rented, or published on this site. We do not add you to a mailing list from this form. There is no newsletter sign-up hidden inside the submission.

Your draft

While you are writing, a copy of your draft is saved in your own browser so you do not lose it if the page reloads. It stays on your device and is cleared once your letter is sent.

Changing your mind

To withdraw a letter, or to ask what we hold about you, write to Dunmore Land, LLC at info@dunmoreparkva.com. A letter already entered into the public record may not be removable from that record, which is a matter for the Town rather than for us.

How long we keep it

Your letter and the details attached to it are kept while the application is before the Town, and afterwards only for as long as a record of what was submitted is needed. Once it is no longer needed for that, it is deleted. Anything already entered into the public record is held by the Town under its own rules rather than ours.
